10 Wellness Tips for Your Best Summer Ever

Summer is the busiest season of the year. Work is busy, the kids are on summer vacation, and you have all kinds of events and activities planned. But, you shouldn’t let the hustle and bustle of summer prevent you from having your best one yet. In fact, you should use the hustle and bustle to your advantage. Here are 10 wellness tips that will help you turn your busy summer into the best one ever.

Tip #1 Balance
The first of ten wellness tips for a great summer is to find a proper balance. Balance is the key to getting everything you want out of your summer. It is the all-encompassing concept that plays a big role in the next 9 steps. So, how do I keep balance during my summer? By being mindful of everything in life that makes you happy. When you do this, you remain grounded in all of your endeavors.

Tip #2 Family
Obviously, spending time with the family is one of the most important activities of your summer. You must have a controlled and concerted effort towards family time. But, here’s the thing – make sure it’s fun! These are the people you love. So, take you time with this and make sure to bond with each member of your family.

Tip #3 Diet
You have to stay properly fueled for your best summer. The best way to do that is to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water every day. In addition to that, keep a regular rotation of natural fruits and vegetables in your diet… it’s summer! These foods are in season. I even challenge you to not shop in the center aisles of the supermarket. That’s where all the junk is!

Tip #4 Play
It wouldn’t be the best summer ever without play time. The trick to this is to make an effort into playing. Yes, you have to try to play! Go to the beach, waterpark, or theme park. But, be sure to make it a point to play. Also, laugh! This is so important – not only for your summer but for your health.

Tip #5 Exercise
You simply cannot have your greatest summer without being active. You must exercise and make athletic activities a part of your schedule. Here’s the important part of this – have fun while exercising Also, set an athletic goal for your summer. Perhaps you can try to lose weight or you can run a 5k. Regardless of what it is, set a goal and try to accomplish it.

Tip #6 Work
Unfortunately, most of us can’t get out of work for an entire summer. That’s ok, though – work is a part of who we are and it’s a big part of having your best summer. When you take on your job, do it with passion. Easier said than done, I know. But, when you find passion in your work, that breeds stamina. And the more stamina you have, the more productive you’ll be for all of your summer activities.

Tip #7 Health
I want you to be mindful of your stress levels. How many people do you know have heavy stress in their life and are also healthy? Probably not very many. It’s important to do what it takes to keep your stress low. One thing I already mentioned that is of the utmost importance to your health is to laugh. Laugh as much as you can!

Tip #8 BBQ!
BBQs play an important role in the social and dietary aspects of our summers here in America. Yes, go to your family and friends’ BBQs, and even throw a few yourself. But, remember to keep the food healthy. Go with grass-fed beef or free-range chicken. Lastly, make it a point to socialize with as many people as you can.

Tip #9 Fun
No, you’re not crazy. I did already mention play time as one of the most important wellness tips. However, I want to reiterate that it is required to have fun. Not during just play, but in whatever activity you engage in. From work to the gym and to the beach, and whomever you’re with, it’s critical to keep a fun mindset during your best summer ever.

Tip #10 Dream
This may be one the most important wellness tips of all. You must dream this summer. Dream BIG. Take time each day to find what it is you want out of your day. Then, take it a step further by envisioning your future and ways you can attain the one you want. Dream about what you would like to have and who you would like to have it with. Think about how you can improve. Think positively.
